One of the UFC's Most Competitive Divisions
The UFC Lightweight division has become one of the most stacked divisions in the UFC. In the past few years there has been a massive influx of talent and explosive fighters. Ilia Topuria is the newest addition to the division, currently ranked as the 155-pound Champ.

The current UFC lightweight rankings are always changing. This list is intended to reflect the lightweight rankings based on each of the top 15 fighter’s records.
Underneath each of the top 10 fighter's names, you will see a brief overview of the fighter, including who they recently fought against and their win/loss record in those bouts.
Reigning Lightweight Champion - Ilia Topuria
Ilia Topuria decided to vacate his Championship belt at Featherweight to fight for the title. Topuria set out to achieve the goal of becoming champ, and did it in spectacular fashion at UFC 317.
Topuria secured the title by way of knockout against Charles Oliveira, during the first Round of their 155-pound matchup. Watch the video below to relive the moment!
Now that Ilia is the newly-crowned Lightweight Champion, he will have to defend the belt against the hungry competition. Topuria's professional MMA record now sits at 17 wins and 0 losses.
#1 Lightweight Fighter - Islam Makhachev
Former Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev, is no longer the current UFC Lightweight Champion, after Ilia Topuria siezed the Championship title at UFC 317.
During Makhahev's last fight, Islam faced off against Renato Moicano (#12-ranked Lightweight), who stepped up and volunteered to fight for the Lightweight Championship bout on short notice after Arman Tsarukyan pulled out of the fight due to a back injury. Makhachev won the fight by D'Arce choke submission.
Makhachev's professional record now stands at an impressive 27-1, with victories coming by both KO and submission.
#2 Lightweight Fighter - Arman Tsarukyan
Arman Tsarukyan is currently the #2 ranked Lightweight UFC fighter. With a professional record of 22 wins and 3 losses, he has notable victories over Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, and Joaquim Silva.
Known for his strong grappling abilities and improving skillset, Tsarukyan fought, but lost during an exciting match-up against Charles Oliveira in April 2024 at UFC 300.
#3 Lightweight Fighter - Max Holloway
Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje fought for the BMF belt at UFC 300. Holloway walked away as the winner after they fought for almost 5 full rounds of MMA action.
Holloway finished the fight with a jaw-dropping knockout with only 1 second remaining in the last and final round. Since they fought at Lightweight for the BMF title, Holloway earned himself a Top 10 spot in the Lightweight division.
After losing to Ilia Topuria in October 2024 (fighting for the Featherweight title), Holloway came back to face off against Dustin Poirier in July 2025. It was Poirier's retirement fight, but Holloway walked away the winner. Now, Max has a professional MMA record of 27 wins and 8 losses.
#4 Lightweight Fighter - Charles Oliveira
Charles Oliveira is the #4-ranked UFC Lightweight and a former Lightweight interim champion. He has won impressive victories by both submissions and KOs. Known for his excellent grappling and striking skills, Oliveira fought Michael Chandler at UFC 309, then Ilia Topuria in June, 2025 at UFC 317.
Near the middle of Round 1, the ref stopped the fight and Topuria was declared the winner by way of KO. This loss updated Oliveira's professional MMA record to 35 wins and 11 losses.
#5 Lightweight Fighter - Justin Gaethje
Justin Gaethje is currently ranked as the #4 Lightweight. Known for his aggressive fighting style and powerful striking, Gaethje has amassed an impressive professional record of 26-5.
He defeated Dustin Poirier in July 2023 and was awarded the Performance of the Night for his victory. Gaethje lost the BMF belt to Max Holloway in April 2024 after suffering a last-second KO.
Then, in March 2025, Gaethje defeated Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313, winning by Unanimous Decision. His performance against Fiziev was awarded the Fight of the Night.
#6 Lightweight Fighter - Dan Hooker
Dan "The Hangman" Hooker fights out of New Zealand and has a professional record of 24 wins and 12 losses. Throughout his career, Hooker has faced tough competition in the 155-pound division.
Known for his versatility, Hooker has notable victories over Jalin Turner and Gilbert Burns. Most recently, Hooker beat Mateusz Gamrot by split decision at UFC 305. Their fight was memorable enough to receive the Fight of the Night award.
#7 Lightweight Fighter - Mateusz Gamrot
Mateusz Gamrot has a professional record of 25 wins and 3 losses. Gamrot has showcased his skills with victories over Rafael dos Anjos, Jeremy Stephens, and Rafael Fiziev.
In May, 2025 Gamrot defeated Ľudovít Klein at UFC on ESPN: Gamrot vs. Klein. Gamrot won by Unanimous Decision after 3 Rounds.
#8 Lightweight Fighter - Beneil Dariush
Beneil Dariush is currently ranked as the #8 Lightweight fighter in the UFC with a professional record of 23 wins and 6 losses. He has notable victories over top contenders like Tony Ferguson, Drew Dober, and Mateusz Gamrot.
Dariush won his most recent fight against Renato Moicano at UFC 317 in June 2025. This victory solidified Dariush as a true Top 10 contender in the ultra-competitive 155-pound division.
#9 Lightweight Fighter - Paddy Pimblett
Paddy Pimblett rose in the Rankings after facing off against Michael Chandler at UFC 314. Pimblett was awarded his fifth Performance of the Night award after defeating Chandler by TKO during the third Round.
With an impressive professional MMA record of 23 wins and 3 losses, Paddy the Baddy has shown consistent growth as a fighter.
#10 Lightweight Fighter - Rafael Fiziev
Rafael Fiziev has a background in Muay Thai and MMA. After joining the UFC in April 2019, Fiziev has earned 3 KO victories.
Rafael has earned a professional MMA record of 13 wins 4 losses. His most recent victory came against Ignacio Bahamondes in June 2025, by unanimous decision.
